What We DO
Thuranira Kathiai Foundation has been working for the welfare and empowerment of the needy persons. In Kenya there are currently over 25 million people affected by the ongoing draught. We are endeavoring that we help them.
Where We Do It
We have been targeting elderly persons living in Meru County in Tigania East of Tigania North Sub County and Isiolo County, Kula Mawe Sub County.
We currently have a budget of $2000,000 to successfully help our cause during this festive season.
NOVEMBER 2022 TO JANUARY 2023 – BACK TO SCHOOL FEES FACILITATION
About
A person with a disability is a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. This includes people who have a record of such an impairment, even if they do not currently have a disability.
What We Do
Thuranira Kathiai Foundation has been assisting persons with disabilities to fully participate in society and enjoy equal rights and opportunities on an equal basis with others.
What We Need
For the December period we are looking forward to successfully raising $100,000 help 4,000 persons with disabilities we have identifies in the counties of Meru, Tharaka Nithi and Embu.
NOVEMBERR 2022 – FEBRUARY 2023 – ELDERY PERSONS, THE DISABLED AND ORPHANS FESTIVITIES FACILITATION
Who We Are Targeting
Standard Eight and Form Four learners will be reporting to school in September 2022 since the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations take place in December 2022. After a week or two, the rest of the learners – Pre-Primary One and Two, Grade One, Two and Three, Standard Five and Six and Form One and Two – will resume studies in January 2023.
What We Do
Thuranira Kathiai Foundation supports the educational needs of some of these learners located in the children’s homes in Meru county. We provide them with school fees and school supplies such as school uniforms, school stationery, school books and some pocket money.
What We Need
We have identified 2000 needy school going children for which we can successfully support them in school with an estimated budget of $1,500,000.
